ʻŌiwi Television Network

Pilina First’s partners and associates founded and led ʻŌiwiTV and Pilina First continues to collaborate on content creation for the station and its clients.

ʻŌiwi Television is the only broadcast initiative with digital and cable platforms that not only creates and disseminates Hawaiian language and culture content, but also has the capacity to conduct its operations through the Hawaiian language. The wisdom, beauty and power of Hawai‘i are the backdrop to the most important and interesting narratives of our generation. Founded by Nāʻālehu Anthony, Keoni Lee, and Amy Kalili, this next generation of Native Hawaiian storytellers aim to tell the stories of our land and our people.

The stories ʻŌiwiTV tells — from the clients they work with to the questions they ask — are shaped by an aspiration to revitalize and affirm a positive native Hawaiian worldview. Their driving motivation is to create a new narrative of the modern Hawaiian experience.

ʻŌiwi TV, on Spectrum channel 326 and online at www.oiwi.tv, is home to the production team’s original content and also serves as a community hub for information, collaboration and engagement. ʻŌiwi uses innovative technology and traditional sensibilities to tell stories that matter and also has extensive experience and expertise in creating and delivering media and engagement training for Hawaiian Medium Education students and teachers.
